Africa Uplifted

Africa Uplifted is a non-profit public charity that was established in 2011. Africa Uplifted enriches the lives of the people of Sierra Leone by promoting basic wellness, removing barriers to education, satisfying essential physical needs, nurturing spiritual development, and creating economic opportunities. Their projects include salary and logistical support for a basic healthcare clinic, preschool and primary school in the small rural village of Manonkoh, Sierra Leone. In addition, over 300 children receive subsidized school uniforms, supplies and a daily lunch.

Africa Uplifted was founded by Lance and Julie Burma who are originally from Bloomington, Minnesota and Cumberland, Wisconsin. They travel to Sierra Leone frequently and now reside in Mission Viejo, California.
