Did you know that even if you have a radon mitigation system, you should be testing your home every 2 years? I learned about this awhile back from reading the actual label on the radon mitigation pipe that was in a basement. Very interesting! At our home, we put in Airthings (radon reader) on our kitchen counter as we didn’t have a mitigation system. For almost 2 years we were below the 4.0 pCi/L level and then one day it spiked over 7.0 pCi/L. Our radon guy told us that the earth shifts and caused a new spot in our house that was getting radon gas. That was also interesting! We ended up getting a radon mitigation system from Great River Radon and still have our Airthings on the counters to ensure we are good to go.
